Contemporary dance with acrobatic elements

In this workshop we will explore in a playful atmosphere how to integrate acrobatic elements into a dance flow.

We will start by warming up the body thoroughly and awakening space and group awareness through some improvisation tasks.

Then we will explore the relationship between our bodies and gravity through floor work: how to roll, slide, spiral, flip. We will then move through all the levels, exploring falling, balancing and losing balance to gain a full understanding of momentum.

After practicing all the different elements we will put them together in a longer sequence and focus on the connections between the different dance or more acrobatic moves.

Throughout the workshop we will have partnering exercises and improvisation tasks to shed a different light on the movement principles we will embody.
